The Department of Computer Science & Engineering was established in the academic year 2001-2002 with an intake of 60 seats in the Bachelor course of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE). The intake for the Bachelor course of Computer Science & Engineering was increased to 120 seats in the year 2006.

The Department started two Masters Courses of Computer Science & Engineering with intake of 18 seats in the year 2007 and Computer Networks and Information Security with intake of 18 seats in the year 2008. The intake for Masters in Computer Science & Engineering was increased to 54 seats in the year 2011. The Department is among the well established departments that have state of the art equipment along with the labs that consist of around 800 computers, where logical reasoning is the main focus in all practical works.

With the expertise of well qualified, experienced, talented and doctorate faculty the department is in practice of its unique mode of learning environment in which the use of advanced teaching aids is a common sight. All labs consist of computers with latest configuration and are connected with high-end servers with licensed software par with present IT industry standards. The Internet connection is provided through a leased line of 120 mbps in the Institute.
